An excellent Secondary school in Trafford are looking for an experienced teaching assistant to join its SEND Team From September on a full time basis. This is a 1:1 support role based in KS3/4 with pupils with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities of Teaching Assistant
• Provide learning support for a students on a 1:1 basis
• Assist with the development of individual education and behavioural plans setting challenging expectations for pupils to achieve learning goals.
• Establish trusting relationships with pupils with interactions according to individual needs and personalities.
• Work closely with SENCo and Class Teacher to ensure learning is tailored to needs of pupils
Personal Specification of Teaching Assistant
• Have experience supporting students on a 1:1 basis (at least 1 year)
• Have a strong understanding of SEND Needs such as: Autism, ADHD and SEMH
• Willing to support in the classroom as well deliver targeted interventions centering on speech and language
• Have an ability to use own initiative with an ability to ‘think on your feet’
• Have a positive and ambitious attitude to learning
