We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to work in primary and secondary schools across the Wirral, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, ADHD and behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with behavioural and emotional needs.
Build positive, trusting relationships to improve engagement and attendance.
Implement behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques.
Support pupils to develop emotional regulation and positive coping skills.
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral staff and external agencies.
Promote a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Monitor and record pupil progress and contribute to behaviour support plans.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience working with children or young people in education, youth work, care, coaching or similar settings.
Calm, patient and resilient approach.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Understanding of trauma-informed practice or SEMH needs is desirable.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
