New Directions are currently recruiting for a SEND Support Assistant to work within a Nurture Base attached to a primary school in Irlam, starting as soon as possible. This is a full-time, temporary role.
The School:
Supportive and inclusive primary school with a dedicated Nurture Base.
Provides additional support for pupils with SEND, SEMH and emotional regulation needs.
Focuses on wellbeing, confidence, independence and engagement with learning.
The Role:
You will provide 1:1 and small-group support within the Nurture Base, helping pupils regulate their emotions, build positive relationships and access learning.
Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH and behavioural needs.
Building positive relationships with pupils.
Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
Helping pupils access learning and develop independence.
Working closely with teachers and the SENDCO.
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH or behavioural needs.
Calm, patient and nurturing approach.
Confident managing challenging behaviour.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Previous school, care or support experience is desirable.
