New Directions Education are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to work within mainstream primary schools across Chester and surrounding areas. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting students with additional needs and helping them access learning within an inclusive classroom environment.
The schools we work with are committed to providing effective SEND support and creating positive learning environments where all students can thrive.
Due to the nature of these opportunities, candidates must be able to commit to working 3 or more days per week.
• Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND
• Supporting students to access learning within the mainstream classroom
• Supporting students with a range of additional needs
• Assisting with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
• Supporting individual learning plans and EHCP targets
• Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and engagement
• Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and support staff
• Monitoring and recording student progress where required
• Experience working with children with SEND (desirable)
• A patient, caring, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
• A full driving licence and access to transport (beneficial)
