New Directions Education are recruiting for a pool of confident, compassionate, and dedicated Speech and Language Therapists to work within schools and specialist educational settings across Leeds.

We want to hear from candidates who have:
Relevant qualifications in Speech and Language Therapy and current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
Experience working with children and young people, ideally within mainstream schools, specialist provisions, resource bases, or SEND settings.
A strong understanding of speech, language, communication, and social interaction difficulties.
The ability to assess, plan, and deliver effective therapy programmes tailored to individual pupil needs.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with pupils, families, school staff, and external agencies.
Knowledge of SEND legislation, EHCP processes, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
You will be working with pupils across Early Years, Key Stages 1, 2, 3, and 4, supporting communication development and ensuring learners can access the curriculum effectively. The role involves:
Assessing pupils’ speech, language, and communication needs and developing appropriate intervention plans.
Delivering individual and group therapy sessions to support communication, language development, and social interaction skills.
Providing advice, guidance, and training to teachers, support staff, and families to promote communication-friendly learning environments.
Contributing to Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments, EHCP reviews, and multidisciplinary meetings where required.
Monitoring and evaluating pupil progress, maintaining accurate records, and producing professional reports.
Working collaboratively with educational staff and other professionals to ensure pupils receive holistic and effective support.
