We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive educational setting in North Liverpool. The Role:

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who may display challenging behaviours or require additional support with emotional regulation and engagement in learning. You will play a vital role in creating a positive, nurturing and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with students.
• Support the implementation of behaviour management strategies.
• Encourage student engagement, participation and achievement.
• Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning activities.
• Promote emotional wellbeing and social development.
• Support students during lessons, break times and transitions throughout the school day.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural or additional learning needs is desirable.
• A calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
• Relevant qualifications or transferable experience from youth work, care, support work or similar settings would be advantageous.
