New Directions are currently recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to join our supply team in Warrington and the surrounding areas. We work with a wide range of primary schools and SEND settings, offering flexible day-to-day, short-term and longer-term opportunities to suit your availability and experience.

The Role:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.
Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
Assist children with communication and interaction needs.
Support pupils with sensory and regulation needs where required.
Use appropriate communication strategies and resources to support individual pupils.
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.
Help create a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Follow individual support plans and school policies.
Support pupils both inside and outside of the classroom where required.
The Candidate:
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable but not essential.
A Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience is advantageous.
Experience in schools, nurseries, care, support work, sports coaching or similar settings is welcomed.
A patient, caring and nurturing approach.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
