New Directions Education is working with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School based in Bradford, currently seeking a Key Stage 1 Teacher to join their team on a full-time, temporary basis from September 2025. The school is looking for an enthusiastic and committed teacher with a passion for early years/Key Stage 1 education, someone who can create an engaging, supportive learning environment and who understands the developmental needs of young learners in Years1 and 2.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and delivering high-quality lessons in line with the KS1 National Curriculum
Creating a nurturing, inclusive classroom where all pupils feel safe and supported
Assessing pupils’ progress and adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs
Maintaining accurate records of pupils’ progress and reporting regularly to parents and senior staff
Working closely with teaching assistants and SEN staff to support children with additional needs
Promoting positive behaviour and following the school’s behaviour management policies
Contributing to the wider life of the school, including assemblies, extracurricular activities, and school events
Essential Skills & Experience:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching within Key Stage 1 (Year 1 and/or Year 2)
Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment requirements for KS1
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
Ability to differentiate learning and support children with varying needs and abilities
Strong communication and organisational skills
A positive, patient, and flexible approach to teaching young learners
