New Directions Education are currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a supply basis within a specialist SEN school in Flintshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Teaching Assistant who enjoys supporting pupils with additional needs and wants the flexibility that supply work can offer.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced teaching staff to support pupils with their learning, development, personal care and wellbeing. You will play an important role in creating a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their potential.
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in an SEN setting, specialist school or similar environment
Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs
Experience working with children with physical disabilities or mobility needs, including pupils who use wheelchairs
Confidence supporting pupils with mobility, positioning and physical needs, where appropriate training has been provided
A patient, calm and empathetic approach
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Confidence supporting pupils with a range of learning, behavioural and physical needs
Strong behaviour management skills
The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team
A flexible and adaptable approach to different situations
A genuine passion for supporting children and helping them develop
