ALN Teaching Assistant,

Job Description

New Directions are currently looking to recruit a ALN Teaching Assistant to work in various schools within Shrewsbury.

The roll is to start in September and although experience is preferred it is not essential. We are looking for a candidate who is flexible and willing to take on a challenge. The ideal candidate will be someone who can use their own initiative, and be flexible due to the nature of the work

Main responsibilities will include supporting pupils in non-mainstream classroom settings, 1:1 support work, monitoring behaviour and working in conjunction with classroom teacher and assisting with literacy and numeracy sessions. You will also be involved in setting up equipment, preparing materials for lessons and the recording of pupils achievements and progress.

· Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

· Dyslexia

· Dyspraxia

· Multi-Sensory Impairment (MSI)

· Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)

· Profound and Moderate Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

· Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)

· Severe Learning Difficulties

· Physical Disabilities (PD)
