Job Description

Are you a creative and enthusiastic Art and Design Teacher looking for an exciting opportunity in a supportive secondary school setting? New Directions Education is delighted to be working with a fantastic North Manchester school, seeking a passionate teacher to inspire students and help them develop their artistic skills.

Starting in January, you’ll be joining a welcoming and supportive team, sharing your love of art across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential to work with Key Stage 5 students too. This role will initially continue until the end of the school year with the view to extend.

Whether you’re an experienced teacher or a newly qualified teacher (NQT), this is a chance to make a real impact on young people’s learning and creativity.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering engaging lessons across all areas of Art and Design, tailored to students of all abilities
  • Creating a positive, organised classroom environment that encourages learning and creativity
  • Planning and preparing lessons with enthusiasm and imagination
  • Motivating students and fostering a love of the subject
  • Supporting assessment, recording, and tracking of pupil progress
  • Coordinating resources and activities within your subject area
  • Keeping up-to-date with curriculum developments
  • Participating in school events and activities, sometimes outside normal school hours
  • Collaborating with colleagues and working flexibly within the school team

Role requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience teaching Art and Design across KS3 and KS4
  • Creativity, energy, and passion for teaching
  • Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills
  • A team player who is adaptable and enjoys working with students of all abilities
