The Role:

  • As a Year 5 Teacher, you will plan and deliver exciting, inquiry-based lessons that challenge and engage pupils, encouraging them to be independent thinkers and problem solvers.
  • Integrate outdoor learning experiences into your teaching to enhance understanding and connection with the natural world.
  • Work collaboratively with your parallel class teacher and wider staff team to develop creative projects and assessments aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom and outdoor environment where pupils feel safe to explore and learn.
  • Use ongoing assessment to inform planning, provide feedback, and ensure all pupils make excellent progress.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Key Stage 2, preferably Year 5 or upper KS2.
  • Have a passion for inquiry-based learning and experience or enthusiasm for embedding outdoor learning in the curriculum.
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management, creativity, and the ability to engage children of all abilities.
  • Be a reflective, collaborative practitioner who is proactive in sharing best practice and contributing to whole-school initiatives.
  • Be willing to complete an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service if not already in place.
  • Able to provide references covering the last 5 years of employment or study.
