A supportive and inclusive school in North Liverpool is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
This role involves working as a Learning Support Assistant, providing targeted support to pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and complex behavioural challenges. The successful applicant will play a key role in helping pupils regulate their behaviour, engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.
The Role
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH and complex behavioural needs
• Support pupils in managing behaviour and emotional regulation
• Assist in implementing individual behaviour support plans
• Work closely with the SENCO, teaching staff and external professionals
• Support pupils both in the classroom and in alternative provision areas where required
The Ideal Candidate
• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) desirable but not essential
Requirements
• References covering the last 5 years
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
