Learning Support Assistant, Powys

Job Description

We are currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants to join Primary Schools across the Powys Borough. Whether you’re an experienced Teaching Assistant, have a background in childcare or support work, we have opportunities available to suit a range of experience levels.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and school staff to provide positive support to pupils in the classroom and throughout the school day.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting pupils with their learning and development.
• Working with individuals or small groups of children.
• Helping pupils engage with classroom activities and learning tasks.
• Providing encouragement and positive reinforcement.
• Supporting children’s social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Assisting teachers with classroom activities and resources.
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive and welcoming learning environment.
• Supporting pupils during break times, lunchtimes and other school activities where required.
