New Directions Education are working closely with a Catholic High School in the heart of Liverpool specialising in performing arts to provide Cover Supervisors for day to day and long term supply needs, with the potential of a permanent position.
The school itself is a state of the art building close to Everton Park, and welcome staff and students from all Cultures and take positive steps to help staff and students with disabilities.
The school has a resourced provision and success applicants with be asked to be flexible to the school needs and may at times be asked to work 1:1 with students.
We have full and part time hours for these roles,
Working as a Cover Supervisor can be a very rewarding but very demanding role. Schools may wish to employ staff for cover supervision but on occasions where they are not needed for cover, they might also be released to provide additional support to Teachers in classrooms, or to carry out administrative tasks.
Ideally, candidates will be required to:
Develop curricular knowledge in line with the school requirements
Apply the school’s behaviour management policy and report any difficulties to the class Teacher/senior leadership team
Set homework in line with the classroom Teacher requirements
Provide homework under the guidance of the class Teacher
Administer class tests if requested
Supervise the work of the Teaching Assistant, providing support if required
Abide by and work towards all policies within the school, eg – behaviour management, health and safety, equal opportunities
Carry out pre-prepared exercises in the short term absence of the class Teacher
Ensure students remain on task through classroom management
You will not be required to plan lessons, but will have the opportunity to lead the class
Assisting students where required and ensuring lessons are delivered
Collect completed work and pass to the class teacher.
