Job Description

A Liverpool secondary school is seeking a confident and dedicated Maths Teacher to join their team from September for the full academic year. This is a great opportunity for a teacher who can bring Mathematics to life through clear, engaging lessons and help pupils develop both their subject knowledge and confidence.

The successful applicant will teach Maths across KS3 and KS4, working with students of different abilities and ensuring lessons are appropriately challenging and accessible. You will join a collaborative department that is committed to raising attainment and providing pupils with the skills they need to succeed.

The Role

• Deliver effective and engaging Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4, adapting your approach to meet the needs of individual pupils.
• Prepare lessons that develop mathematical understanding, problem-solving skills, and confidence.
• Establish a focused classroom environment where pupils are encouraged to participate and take ownership of their learning.
• Assess and track student progress, using feedback to identify strengths and areas for further development.
• Work closely with the Maths department to support curriculum planning and maintain consistency across lessons.
• Encourage positive attitudes towards Mathematics while maintaining clear expectations around behaviour and achievement.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Has proven experience teaching Mathematics across KS3 and KS4.
• Possesses strong subject knowledge and can communicate complex mathematical ideas in a clear and accessible way.
• Is confident in maintaining positive classroom behaviour and establishing productive relationships with pupils.
• Is adaptable, organised, and committed to delivering consistently high standards of teaching.
• Has a genuine passion for helping pupils overcome challenges and reach their academic potential.

Requirements

• References covering the previous 5 years.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Previous experience teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4.
• Availability from September for the full academic year.
