The Role:
Plan and deliver engaging DT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, inspiring students to develop practical and creative skills.
At KS3, deliver projects covering areas such as resistant materials, textiles, electronics, product design, and CAD/CAM.
At KS4, deliver GCSE Design & Technology (or equivalent) courses including systems and control, materials and their properties, designing and making principles, and iterative design processes.
Encourage students to explore problem-solving, creativity, sustainability, and safe use of tools and equipment.
Promote positive behaviour, collaboration, and engagement in practical and theoretical learning.
Contribute to extracurricular activities, DT clubs, and school initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate:
Qualified to teach Design & Technology at secondary level (QTS or equivalent).
Experienced in teaching both KS3 and KS4 DT curricula, with strong knowledge of materials, CAD/CAM, electronics, product design, and practical workshop skills.
Passionate about developing students’ creativity, problem-solving abilities, and practical skills.
Committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Willing to complete an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service if not already in place.
Able to provide references covering at least the last 5 years of employment or study.
