New Directions Education is seeking a talented and enthusiastic English Teacher to work in secondary schools across the Harrogate area on a supply basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher who is passionate about English and enjoys the variety that supply teaching offers.
Alongside delivering engaging English lessons, there will also be opportunities to provide general classroom cover, making this a varied and rewarding role suited to adaptable and confident educators.
The Role
Deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Inspire students to develop their reading, writing and communication skills
Follow school policies and lesson plans where provided
Manage classroom behaviour effectively and create a positive learning environment
Provide general cover across other curriculum areas when required
Assess and monitor student progress during assignments
Build positive relationships with students, staff and school leadership teams
What We’re Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
Specialism in English Language and/or English Literature
Experience teaching in UK secondary schools
Strong classroom management skills
Flexible, adaptable and confident covering a range of subjects when required
Passionate about helping students achieve their full potential
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
