New Directions are currently recruiting for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work in a primary school based in Oldham (OL1).

The Role:
Deliver planned lessons and learning activities across the primary age range.
Lead whole-class, small-group and intervention sessions.
Support the class teacher with the planning and delivery of engaging lessons.
Provide targeted support to pupils to help them make progress.
Manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain a positive learning environment.
Adapt activities and resources to meet the individual needs of pupils.
Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and school leaders.
Provide feedback on pupil progress and learning where required.
Take responsibility for the classroom in the absence of the class teacher, where appropriate.
The Candidate:
Previous experience working as an HLTA or in a similar senior teaching assistant role is desirable.
A relevant Teaching Assistant or HLTA qualification is advantageous.
Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum.
Confident delivering lessons and leading groups of pupils independently.
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A flexible, positive and professional approach.
