New Directions is looking for a passionate Humanities Teacher to work in schools across the Rhondda Cynon Taf area. This role is initially on a temporary basis through New Directions, with the opportunity to progress into a permanent position.
This is an exciting opportunity to teach a range of Humanities subjects, including History, Religious Studies, Geography, and other Humanities disciplines, depending on your specialism and the needs of the school.
We welcome applications from PGCE students in their final year, Early Career Teachers (ECTs), and experienced teachers.
Do you have the following?
A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
The ability to teach Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) (KS5 experience is desirable but not essential).
A valid Enhanced DBS certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
A genuine passion for teaching and inspiring young people.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

Whether you are an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or an experienced Humanities teacher, this role involves delivering engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the possibility of teaching KS5 where appropriate.
As a Humanities Teacher, you will be expected to:
Teach Humanities subjects in line with the national curriculum and your subject specialism.
Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that meet the needs of learners of all abilities.
Motivate and inspire pupils through creative and enthusiastic teaching.
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support student achievement.
