Key Stage 1 Teacher

New Directions Education are excited to be recruiting Key Stage 1 teachers on a supply basis for schools across the Caerphilly area. Most schools are accessible via public transport and offer free on-site parking for your peace of mind.

We offer online course which can be completed in your own time, in the comfort of your own home in addition to the on-site training such as Team Teach, Intro to Sign Language and First Aid. On-site training will be in our brand new, state of the art building in Llanishen and training provided by well recognized professionals.

Job Requirements include:

  • A passion for raising student expectations and achievements
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with staff and pupils
  • The ability to remain up to date with educational developments and changes whilst undertaking the role
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • In possession of a clear DBS with the update service and registered with the EWC

Job Specification

  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • In possession of a clear DBS with the update service and registered with the EWC
