New Directions Education are currently seeking a Key Stage 2 Teacher for a primary school on the outskirts of Swansea. The position is to cover the PPA sessions for the whole department and is to start after the October half term. This position is on a supply basis to start with but may become a regular position. The school are looking for applicants with a sporting background or a keen interest in sports to deliver PE sessions. If you have undertaken any coaching qualifications this would also be a great advantage.

Have gained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and are registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC);
Are able to promote the ‘Cwricwlwm Cymraeg’ throughout the school and use incidental Welsh when appropriate;
Can confidently liaise with staff, pupils and parents;
Are either Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT’s) or experienced classroom practitioners;

The successful applicant would be required to work closely with other Key Stage 2 staff in order to plan engaging and diverse lessons to suit individual learning needs. As a Primary School Key Stage 2 Teacher you’ll be expected to:
Teach all areas of the school curriculum
Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
