New Directions are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming one-form-entry primary school in Warrington, supporting pupils across Key Stage 2. This a full-time, long-term position starting as soon as possible, with the potential for a permanent role for the right candidate. The role is general but there will be a requirement to lead small group interventions for students with additional needs.

The Role:
Full-time Teaching Assistant supporting pupils across Key Stage 2.
Working alongside the class teacher to support learning and classroom activities.
Providing general classroom support, including helping pupils to stay focused and engaged.
Supporting children with their reading, writing, maths and wider curriculum activities.
Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and build confidence.
Helping with classroom organisation and preparation of resources.
Supporting positive behaviour and encouraging pupils to develop independence.
Building positive relationships with pupils and becoming a consistent, trusted member of the school team.
The Candidate:
Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting is desirable.
A Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, enthusiastic and positive approach to supporting children.
The ability to work effectively as part of a school team.
Someone who is reliable, proactive and keen to make a difference to pupils’ learning and development.
Applicants with backgrounds in education, childcare, sports coaching, youth work or similar roles are encouraged to apply.
