New Directions is seeking an experienced, caring, and proactive Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join one of our welcoming primary schools in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing within a positive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant, you will:
-Support the class teacher with curriculum delivery, resource preparation, and activity setup
-Work directly with pupils to help them achieve their full potential
-Deliver small‑group work and interventions under the guidance of the class teacher
-Provide tailored support and differentiation for children with additional needs
-Assist with classroom management, following school behaviour policies and promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment
-Communicate effectively with teachers, pupils, and parents, building strong professional relationships
Requirements
We are looking for someone who has:
*Experience supporting primary‑aged children
*A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
*A patient, flexible, and proactive attitude
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
