We are currently recruiting Secondary Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work in secondary schools across the Abergavenny area. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who want to make a real difference in the classroom while gaining valuable experience in education.
About the Role As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and SEN staff to support students both in and out of the classroom. You may work with individuals or small groups of pupils who require additional support with their learning, behaviour, or emotional wellbeing.
Responsibilities may include:
Supporting students with additional learning needs in a secondary school setting
Assisting the class teacher with lesson activities and classroom management
Providing one-to-one or small group support
Encouraging student engagement and confidence in learning
Supporting pupils with social, emotional, or behavioural needs
Helping create a positive and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with young people (education, youth work, coaching, care work, etc.)
A positive, patient, and supportive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
The ability to build rapport with secondary-aged students
A passion for helping young people achieve their potential
