Job Description

New Directions Education are currently recruiting a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Winsford. This is a full-time position (5 days per week) and is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting teaching and learning and are confident leading classroom activities.

The school is a community-focused setting with a strong emphasis on inclusion and pupil wellbeing, supported by a dedicated staff team and positive learning environment. Staff work collaboratively to ensure all children are supported to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

The Role:

• Delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
• Leading small group interventions to support pupil progress
• Providing targeted 1:1 support where required
• Supporting teaching and learning across the primary age range
• Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in line with school policies
• Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
• Working closely with class teachers and senior leaders
• Assisting with assessment, monitoring, and feedback

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• HLTA status or a relevant Level 4 qualification (or equivalent experience)
• Experience working within a primary school setting
• Confidence in leading whole-class learning
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A proactive, flexible, and professional approach
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
