Job Description

We are currently recruiting for enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSA) for a range of primary schools across Newport. Whether you’re experienced or just starting your career in education, we want to hear from you!
As an LSA, you will support students with their learning and development, working alongside teachers to ensure every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. You will provide essential support in the classroom and beyond, helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:
*Provide one-to-one or small group support to students, assisting with classroom activities and individual learning needs.
*Support students with additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their goals.
*Assist in the delivery of tailored activities and interventions, including those set out in Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
*Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, learning, and social interaction.
*Track and monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
*Support classroom management and ensure that students are engaged and motivated.

About You:
We are looking for candidates who:
*Are passionate about supporting children’s learning and development.
*Have good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
*Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to working with children of all abilities.
*Have experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting (although not essential).
*Have a relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
*Hold a current DBS check, or are willing to obtain one.
