New Directions are seeking an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming two-form entry primary school in Trafford. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils across Key Stage 2 and helping them achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will work across KS2, providing classroom support, delivering interventions and supporting pupils with additional needs. The role may also involve providing dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with SEND, so previous experience working with children with additional needs is essential.
The Role
• Provide classroom support across Key Stage 2, working alongside class teachers
• Deliver targeted interventions in areas such as literacy, numeracy and reading
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND where required
• Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual pupil needs
• Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
• Promote positive behaviour, confidence and independence
• Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and wider support staff to implement individual strategies and targets
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to support ongoing development
The Candidate
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is essential
• Previous experience working within a UK primary school
• Strong experience supporting pupils with SEND is essential
• Experience providing 1:1 support is highly desirable
• Knowledge of needs such as Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties or other additional needs is advantageous
• A patient, adaptable and nurturing approach to supporting pupils
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
