Job Description

New Directions Education is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and adaptable MFL Teacher to work on a supply basis in secondary schools across the Leeds area.

We are looking for a passionate language specialist who can deliver engaging lessons and inspire students to develop their confidence in languages. The successful candidate will primarily teach MFL, with opportunities to undertake general cover when required, making this an ideal role for a flexible and versatile teacher.

The Role

As an MFL Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality French, Spanish, or German lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Engage and motivate students through creative and inclusive teaching methods.
  • Adapt quickly to different school environments and classroom settings.
  • Follow lesson plans and maintain continuity of learning during staff absences.
  • Undertake additional general cover lessons where required.
  • Maintain strong classroom management and behaviour expectations.
  • Support schools in providing a positive and productive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching MFL within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Confidence delivering lessons across various year groups and abilities.
  • Flexibility to provide general cover when needed.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
