New Directions Education is seeking a passionate and creative Art & Design Teacher to join a secondary school in the Leeds area from September.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher who can inspire students to develop their artistic skills, express their creativity, and build confidence through Art and Design. The role is expected to be ongoing, with flexibility available for the right candidate.

The Role

As an Art & Design Teacher, you will:

• Deliver engaging Art & Design lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Inspire students to explore a range of artistic techniques, materials, and creative processes.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.
• Plan and deliver lessons that cater to varying abilities and learning styles.
• Assess, monitor, and support student progress.
• Encourage students to develop confidence in their artistic abilities and critical thinking skills.
• Contribute to the wider life of the department and school where required.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
– Experience teaching Art & Design within a secondary school setting.
– Strong classroom management skills.
– Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for creative education.
– The ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities.
– A flexible and professional approach to teaching.
