New Directions Education are currently recruiting for a passionate and knowledgeable History Teacher to work on a part-time basis at a high-performing secondary school in Halton. This is a long-term position starting in September, with the possibility of extension or becoming permanent for the right candidate. ECTs are encouraged to apply.

The Role:
Part-time teaching role (days negotiable) delivering History across Key Stages 3 and 4, including support with GCSE preparation.
Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that develop historical knowledge, critical thinking, and source analysis skills.
Contribute to the department’s strong record of achievement, and work collaboratively to inspire a love of History and deepen students’ understanding of past events and their relevance today.
Support pupils of all abilities, including those working towards high attainment and those needing additional scaffolding to achieve their potential.
The Ideal Teacher:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Have recent experience teaching History at secondary level, ideally including GCSE.
Be able to provide a school-based reference within the last 5 years.
