New Directions Education are currently working alongside secondary schools in the Ceredigion area to recruit a Maths Teacher for daily and full time long term work.
We require dedicated, passionate Maths specialists capable of maximising student potential and interest in the subject, whilst teaching through the medium of Welsh would be an advantage it is not essential. The successful candidate should display a driven positive attitude.
Successful applicants with possess the following attributes:
Enthusiastic and passionate about Mathematics
Able to to teach KS3 and KS4 (through the medium of Welsh an advantage)
Specialist in Mathematics
Willing to cover other areas outside your specialism
Teach all areas of the school curriculum.
Create a positive learning atmosphere.
Plan, deliver, and mark lessons that cater to all student abilities.
Motivate and challenge pupils with your teaching methods.
Display good levels of classroom control.
Stay up to date with changes and developments in the curriculum.
Liaise with other Teachers and Teaching Assistants within the school.
If you are a newly qualified teacher (NQT) or experienced maths teacher we offer roles which include delivering the curriculum in Key Stage 3 (KS3) to Key Stage 4 (KS4) with a possible work at Key Stage 5 (KS5).
As a maths teacher you’ll be expected to:
Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
