Job Description

Due to a high demand we currently have for physics teachers in schools across Shropshire, New Directions are currently keen to recruit for subject specialists throughout the area.

We are looking for teachers passionate about the subject of physics who have excellent subject knowledge and who are up-to-date with the latest developments in the curriculum. You will need to have a good understanding of the needs of different examining boards and the ability to improve pupil attainment.

The ideal candidate(s) will have the ability to quickly build a strong rapport with the pupils in your care. You will be able to create well-paced and engaging lessons, have the ability to adapt to the individual requirements of each class and be flexible to the school’s needs.

Although the work would initially be for short term, ad-hoc assignments we regularly receive bookings of a more long-term nature. By working on supply in the schools we deal with, New Directions will provide you with the opportunity to build relationships with local schools. In doing so, you are putting yourself in the strongest possible position should any long-term or permanent opportunities arise in the school.

Both newly qualified and experienced teachers are welcome to apply for these roles
