We are recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant to join the SEND department of a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Crosby from September.
Working with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students (ages 11–16), you will support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential within a mainstream school environment.
The Role
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with ASD and SEMH needs.
Work closely with teachers and the SEND team to support students both in and out of the classroom.
Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement with learning.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly ASD and/or SEMH.
A calm, patient, and resilient approach with strong communication skills.
A genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them succeed both academically and personally.
Requirements
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
Able to provide employment references covering the last two years.
Right to work in the UK.
