Job Description
A specialist SEN school is looking for an enthusiastic PLMD TA to join their team of dedicated staff in September 2026. The role is full-time position in a fantastic school based in South Liverpool. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with additional needs and make a real difference within a caring and inclusive school community.
The school supports pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), and complex autism needs within a welcoming and inclusive environment. This role requires an individual with previous experience working in SEND and care settings, along with a calm, patient, and empathetic approach to providing tailored support and sensory-based communication strategies.
The Role
Help maintain a safe and positive learning environment tailored to the pupils individual needs.
Assisting the pupils with personal care.
Support pupils with individual PLMD needs, encouraging progress in both learning, wellbeing & behavioural needs.
Work within school hours of 8:30am–4:00pm, with timetabled teaching typically between 10:00am and 2:00pm
Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate
NCFE, CACHE Level 2 or 3, Health & Social Care are also highly desired.
Preferably experienced in working with PMLD, severe learning difficulties (SLD), or complex physical disabilities in an educational or care setting.
Has a resilient, and adaptable approach to work.
Requirements
References covering the last 5 years
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
