Job Description

New Directions Education are looking to appoint an experienced School Administrator, to work on a temporary supply basis in primary schools in Bridgend.

Due to the nature of supply work, all applicants should be flexible, reliable, and willing to work in different schools in the area, covering long and short-term internal absences such as sickness and maternity. The working hours will be Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4pm, term-time only.

Our clients are seeking hardworking and professional individuals with experience using the School Information Management System (SIMS). Previous experience working independently and overseeing the daily running of a primary school office is highly desirable. All applicants should have excellent verbal and written communication, as the successful candidate will be the first point of contact for the school, dealing with staff, pupils, parents, and visitors.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced School Administrator to join us, using their knowledge and experience to provide integral office support to local primary schools.

Job Specification

We recruit a wide variety of School Office Staff roles, including school secretaries, receptionists, administrators, and school clerks.

Duties are varied and may include the following:

  • Receptionist duties such as answering the phone and welcoming visitors
  • Administrative duties such as typing letters, sorting post, managing emails
  • Dealing with school meals administration, ordering stationery, paying invoices, handling monies, printing and photocopying and managing schools systems like SIMS

School Office Staff must be well organised as well as having excellent verbal and written communication skills. They must also be able to work well under pressure and be able to prioritise tasks.

Candidates will ideally have previous experience working within a school office. Working knowledge of SIMS system is advantageous.

Schools will expect all school support staff to have a good standard of education, some previous office work experience and ideally previous experience working within an educational setting.
