We are looking for a passionate and experienced Welsh-speaking Primary School Teacher to join schools across Powys on a supply basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed educator who thrives on creating inspiring, inclusive, and engaging learning experiences for children.

In this role, you will deliver high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum and Curriculum for Wales, supporting pupils’ academic progress, wellbeing, and personal development. You will be responsible for planning, teaching, and assessing, while fostering a positive classroom environment where every child feels valued and motivated to learn.

We are seeking an adaptable and proactive professional who can quickly settle into new school settings, build strong relationships with pupils and colleagues, and make a real difference in Welsh-medium education across the Powys region.

Job Specification

New Directions Education are recruiting for Welsh Speaking Teachers who would be able to cover various classes within local schools.

We are experiencing a surge in demand. Positions can start immediately, and we can offer you work in as many schools as you wish. 

Successful applicants will be covering classes ranging from Nursery through to Year 6, but if you have a Key Stage preference, we will match you up as much as possible.

Due to the current climate, the nature of our work is quite fast paced with supply teachers required to cover last minute absences at times. We will also be able to offer you long term placements if this is of something of interest to you.

We recruit Primary Teachers for jobs in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) Primary Teacher job roles.

 

As a Welsh Speaking Primary School Teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Have a good understanding of the Welsh language
  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
