Job Description

We are working with a friendly and well-established nursery in New Brighton who are looking to recruit Level 2 and Level 3 qualified Nursery Practitioners for ad hoc bookings and bank staff cover over the summer period.

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced nursery staff looking for flexible work within a supportive early years environment.

The Role

  • Supporting children within the nursery setting
  • Assisting with daily routines, activities and play-based learning

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • In-date Paediatric First Aid certificate
  • Experience working within a nursery or early years setting
  • A caring, reliable and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Job Specification

New Directions recruits for jobs in schools, nurseries and children centres across all areas of the UK. Your aim as a Nursery Nurse is centred on giving young children the best possible start to their life in education.

Every day you’ll be assisting in teaching language, literacy and numeracy, helping the class reach the early learning goals of the national curriculum, along with encouraging good behaviour.

Aside from working with the children, the role also involves setting up and tidying away all activities, analysing and recording each child’s progress and talking about it with their parents/carers.

To be a good Nursery/Pre-school Worker, you must have:

  • A level 3 qualification in childcare or early years, e.g. CACHE diploma in childcare and education
  • The ability to build good relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues
  • A commitment to equal opportunities
  • The ability to work in a team but also to use your own initiative
  • Organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to manage classes well and deal with challenging behaviour
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Patience and a good sense of humour.
