Job Description

New Directions is currently recruiting for a RE Teacher to work with a Secondary school in the Bridgend area. This is a full-time position, with an immediate start. There is also a strong possibility of the role extending to the end of the academic year. This role would also be an excellent opportunity for both Newly Qualified Teacher’s (NQT’s) as well as more experienced teachers.

The right candidate will have the requisite to tackle difficult questions and provide pupils with insight that can work to challenge stereotypes, promote cohesion, and tackle extremism. You will promote the important work of RE by encouraging your students to value themselves & the communities within which they live. Learning about religion and learning from religion are important for all pupils, as religious education helps pupils develop an understanding of themselves and others in addition to promoting the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of individuals and of groups and communities. The right candidate will also provide a creative and exciting learning environment whereby pupils are motivated and encouraged to show ambition, to maximise their potential, and to embrace all aspects of school life to develop a wide-ranging skill set.

Job Requirements include:

  • A passion for raising student expectations and achievements
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with staff and pupils
  • The ability to remain up to date with educational developments and changes whilst undertaking the role
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • In possession of a clear DBS with the update service and registered with the EWC

Job Specification

New Directions Education registers supply teaching jobs for RE Teachers to work with Key Stage 3 (KS3), Key Stage 4 (KS4) and possibly Key Stage 5 (KS5).

  • Teach all areas of your subject specialism

  • Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
