New Directions Education is recruiting an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join a local primary school in Skelmersdale as a Trainee Teaching Assistant, supporting the school’s SEND hub. The Role:
• Assist in delivering bespoke learning support and activities within the SEND hub to children with diverse needs.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support, helping to create a positive and engaging learning experience.
• Work under the guidance of class teachers, SENCO, and SEND specialists to meet individual pupil needs.
• Develop your skills and confidence in a hands-on role supporting children’s education and development.
The Ideal Candidate:
• Passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities.
• No formal classroom experience required — applicants from backgrounds such as care, NHS, social work, sports coaching, or other roles with transferable skills are welcome.
• Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service if not already done.
• Eager to learn, patient, and committed to making a positive difference in children’s lives.
