£825 – £1,375 per week
Job Purpose
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Special Needs Teacher to join a well-established secondary school in Perry Barr, working within their MLD resource base on a long-term, full-time basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to deliver tailored lessons, support pupils with moderate learning difficulties, and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues and support staff to ensure pupils make excellent academic and personal progress.
Key Responsibilities – Teaching & Learning
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons adapted for pupils with MLD
Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
Assess, monitor and record pupil progress against individual targets
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils
Promote positive behaviour and high expectations within the classroom
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, SENCOs and external agencies
Participate fully in school life, meetings and professional development opportunities
Person Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
Experience teaching pupils with SEN, particularly MLD, within a UK secondary school
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Passionate about supporting pupils to achieve their full potential
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Two satisfactory professional references
Qualifications
Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Applications are welcomed from experienced teachers and confident Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with relevant SEN classroom experience.
