New Directions Education is recruiting for an ALN teaching assistant for a fantastic school in Caerphilly part-time on a long-term ongoing basis. We are looking for a someone reliable, passionate, and dedicated teaching assistant who could provide one to one support for a child who presents challenging behaviour. The pupil has been provided with strategies to support behaviours and learning; it is vital that the 1:1 consistently follows the strategies in place. We need a candidate that has had some experience of challenging behaviour and somebody who is committed to the role.
Experience is essential and we are looking for someone reliable, passionate, and dedicated to providing continuity for this child in particular. You will also be expected to help the teacher in preparing the classroom for lessons. This may involve a variety of activities such as photocopying worksheets, setting up art equipment, weighing out ingredients, preparing computers, rearranging the furniture for a particular activity and so on. The right candidate should be able to provide a creative and exciting learning environment whereby pupils are motivated and encouraged to show ambition, to maximise their potential, and to embrace all aspects of school life in order to develop a wide-ranging skill set.
