Job Description

New Directions Education are recruiting for compassionate, resilient and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs within local Primary specialist provisions.

The role will involve:
• Providing 1:1 support to a primary-aged pupil with SEMH needs, promoting emotional   regulation and engagement in learning.
• Assisting the class teacher in creating a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.
• Implementing individual behaviour and learning plans.
• Encouraging social interaction, confidence and independence.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and parents to achieve the best outcomes for the pupil.
