New Directions Education are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Teaching Assistants to support pupils across Foundation Phase and Key Stages 1 and 2. As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you’ll be supporting pupils in both mainstream and SEND settings, helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. You will work closely with class teachers and support staff to assist pupils in developing their academic, social, and emotional skills, ensuring every child can reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide classroom support across all areas of the curriculum, adapting activities to suit individual needs.
Work with pupils on a one-to-one or small group basis to support learning and progress.
Support pupils with additional learning needs (ALN/SEND) and help implement individual learning plans.
Promote positive behaviour and a safe, nurturing classroom environment.
Assist with preparing learning materials and classroom resources.
Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to promote inclusion and engagement across the school.
Essential Requirements
Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or working towards), or a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children, with references available.
Experience working with additional learning needs or from a care background, with references available.
Team Teach training is an advantage, or willingness to complete once registered.
Available full time – 5 days a week.
