Teaching Assistant, Cardiff

Job Description

We are currently looking for a Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil on a 1-2-1 basis in a Primary School in Pentwyn, Cardiff. You will be required to work from 8.30am to 3.330pm, Monday – Friday during term time only.

You support a child diagnosed ADHD and additional learning needs. The successful candidate will need to be engaging and be able to respond effectively to the child’s active behaviour. You will ne working closely with them to help their learning capabilities so being able to monitor performance throughout the day/week is vital.

The successful candidate will need to have a bubbly personality, be calm and remain in control in difficult situations.

You will have:

• The ability to build trusting and positive relationship with pupils
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills
• Capability to monitor behavioural needs

You will need:

• A minimum of 3 months child-based experience
• Contactable references
• A Child and Adult DBS – or be willing to undertake one via New Directions
• A willingness to complete mandatory training when required
