New Directions Education is currently recruiting Trainee Cover Supervisors to work across a variety of secondary schools. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to gain experience in education, with full training provided by an experienced school cover manager. You will be supported throughout your development as you work in different school settings, helping to maintain classroom order and support learning in the absence of teachers.

The Role:
Work as a cover supervisor in secondary schools, supporting teaching staff by supervising classes during teacher absences.
Ensure students remain on task and engaged with set work, managing behaviour and maintaining a safe and productive classroom environment.
Support students’ learning by helping them understand and follow instructions, facilitating productive independent work.
Assist with the supervision of students during exams, break times, and other school activities as required.
The Ideal Candidate:
Able to provide employment references from the last 5 years.
Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check, including registration with the Update Service.
Ideally, possess transferable skills from coaching, team management, military service, youth work, customer service, or other relevant sectors that demonstrate leadership, discipline, and the ability to manage groups effectively.
No prior teaching qualification required; full training will be provided.
