Tranmere Rovers Football Tournament 2017

New Directions Education has been working closely with Tranmere Rovers in the Community in sponsoring their annual football tournament with Wirral and Cheshire Primary schools. So far the competition has been of a high standard and staff at the club have praised the “100% effort put in”. The first leg of the tournament will be for the boys with the final being on 7/3/17. The second leg is for the girls with their final being on 8/3/17.

The teams that have successfully got through to the next stages are: St Joseph’s Catholic Primary in Birkenhead, Gayton primary, Irby Primary, Somerville Primary, Greasby , St John’s Primary, Birkenhead Prep, St Joseph’s catholic primary Wallasey and Our Lady of Pity.

Account Management team for New Directions have braved the cold to enjoy the twists and turns of the tournament so far.

Jen Morrison, Senior Recruitment Consultant for the New Directions Wirral branch says “Every year we sponsor this event it has always been good to watch and get involved with. The pupils taking part are all worthy winners and it is an honour to be part of such a fantastic event. Tranmere Rovers in the Community do a great job in organising this tournament and it is clear to see everyone involved enjoys themselves.”

Shirley Waring whose school will take part in the final said “Tranmere Rovers annual U11 boys 6 a-side competition has seen some excellent displays from the schools taking part this year from spectacular goals to outstanding saves. We have now reached the finals which will take place on Weatherhead High School. We would like to thank New Directions for their continued support and sponsorship of our local football competitions”.
