Part-Time Teaching Assistant – Foundation 2 (F2) – Birkenhead

We are working with a supportive and welcoming Primary School in Birkenhead who are looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work in their Foundation 2 (Reception) class on a part-time basis.

Location: Birkenhead
Start Date: After May Half Term
Duration: Ongoing, long-term supply
Hours: Thursdays and Fridays – PM only
Setting: Foundation Stage 2 (F2)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the class teacher with activities and daily routines
  • Engaging with small groups or individual pupils to support learning and development
  • Encouraging children through play and structured tasks
  • Creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment
  • Contributing to a positive and nurturing classroom culture

Requirements:

  • Experience in an early years or primary school setting (EYFS experience preferred)
  • A calm, caring and flexible approach
  • Enthusiasm for helping young children learn and grow

Job Specification

Teaching, Learning or Classroom Assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.

We specialise in recruiting Teaching Assistants (TA) who are qualified in the following;

  • NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant
  • NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
  • CACHE Level 3 in Childcare & Education
  • BTEC National Certificate in Childhood Studies (Nursery Nursing).

We’ll also consider experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications.

  • Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
  • Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
  • Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
