A full‑time SEN Teacher is required for a September 2026 start in Bradford, with part‑time flexibility negotiable. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience supporting children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs, including complex learning needs, communication difficulties, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
What the Role Involves
Planning and delivering personalised lessons that meet a wide range of learning needs, ensuring pupils can access the curriculum at their level.
Creating structured, predictable learning environments that support emotional regulation and reduce barriers to learning.
Implementing targeted interventions, including literacy, numeracy, social‑skills programmes, and behaviour‑support strategies.
Using differentiated resources and adaptive teaching methods, such as visual supports, sensory tools, and alternative communication approaches.
Managing behaviour proactively, using de‑escalation techniques and trauma‑informed practice to maintain a safe, calm classroom.
Working closely with support staff, including teaching assistants and pastoral teams, to deliver consistent, high‑quality support.
Liaising with families and external professionals, contributing to EHCP reviews, multi‑agency meetings, and personalised support plans.
Tracking progress and maintaining accurate records, ensuring interventions are monitored and adjusted where needed.
Essential Requirements
Previous SEN teaching experience (including SEMH, ASD, MLD, or complex needs).
Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills.
Ability to adapt teaching for diverse and complex learning profiles.
QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
Resilience, patience, and a reflective, child‑centred approach.
