New Directions Education is seeking confident, experienced and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work across a variety of secondary schools throughout the Leeds area on a flexible, ad hoc basis.

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step into the classroom and ensure learning continues in the absence of the regular teacher. You’ll deliver pre-set work, maintain a positive learning environment, and help keep students engaged and on task throughout the day.
– Supervising classes across a range of subjects
– Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive atmosphere
– Ensuring students remain focused on the work provided
– Supporting pupils with their learning where appropriate
– Following school policies and procedures
– Building positive relationships with students and staff
✔ Previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor or within a secondary school setting is essential
✔ Strong classroom management skills and confidence leading groups of students
✔ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
✔ Adaptability and the ability to work in different schools and environments
✔ A positive, professional and proactive attitude
✔ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
