Do you have the patience, resilience, and compassion to make a lasting difference in a child’s educational journey? New Directions Education is seeking dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support primary-aged pupils with behavioural needs across a variety of schools in Flintshire on a supply basis.

This rewarding role involves working closely with individual pupils who require additional support to help them engage positively with learning, develop emotional regulation skills, and achieve their full potential within the classroom.

What We’re Looking For

We’re searching for calm, confident, and caring individuals who can build positive relationships with children and provide consistent support throughout the school day. Successful candidates will:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social needs.
• Build trusting relationships that promote confidence, engagement, and positive behaviour.
• Use positive behaviour management strategies to support pupils in achieving their individual targets.
• Work closely with class teachers, ALNCOs, and other professionals to implement personalised support plans.
• Encourage pupils to develop independence, resilience, and self-esteem.
• Remain calm and professional in challenging situations while responding with empathy and consistency.
• Adapt to different school environments and confidently support pupils with a range of additional needs.

Previous experience supporting children with behavioural needs, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, or Additional Learning Needs (ALN) is beneficial, but above all, we’re looking for individuals with the right attitude, resilience, and commitment to making a positive impact.
